Jeon Ji-hyun first became well-known as a commercial model and as a TV actress. Although she made her film debut in 'White Valentine' in 1999, it was not until later in the year when she was a presenter in an advertisement for an audio system that she became a popular sensation. The dance and body move in the ad made her into an icon for Koreans. After continuing her TV and modelling career, Jeon made her first well-publicized film appearance in late 2000 with 'Il Mare'. A handsomely-shot melodrama set on Kanghwa Island, the film did respectably well at the box office and solidified her status as a star.

Biography
Jun was born in Seoul, and studied in the Department of Theater and Film at Dongguk University. She began her career as a model in 1997, and after appearing in a number of TV sitcoms, her movie debut came in White Valentine (1999). This was followed by a role in Il Mare (2000), which proved to be a success. An American remake of Il Mare, The Lake House, was released June 14, 2006. Her biggest breakthrough was in My Sassy Girl (2001), a romantic comedy that won her the Best Actress award at the Daejong Film Festival in 2002. In 2004, Jun starred in Windstruck (내 여자친구를 소개합니다), a 2004 South Korean fantasy-romantic comedy directed by Kwak Jae-yong. The film was a major success, ranking as the 8th-highest grossing Korean film of 2004. In 2006, she starred in Daisy.

Since her debut as a model for Echo, Jun has modeled for many fashion companies and more recently, in advertisements for mobile phones and cosmetics. Some of her more popular product endorsements include Giordano, Laneige, and Samsung Anycall.

In 2005, she became the first Korean artist to feature on the cover for the famous fashion magazine
ELLE.

Jun will play the lead role of Saya in the live-action version of Blood: The Last Vampire, which is to start filming in China and Argentina in March 2007. It is slated for a Spring 2008 release.

Sung Hi Lee caught the attention of one of the agents, who wanted to work with the Asian beauty. While a full scholarship student at Ohio State University, Sung Hi Lee had visited a friend of hers in Washington D.C.

Sung Hi Lee friend's friend was a Play.boy scout and photographer, who insisted on taking Sung Hi Lee's picture, and asked if she was interested in working for the magazine. For the next few months, the photographer asked Sung Hi Lee's friend if she had changed her mind as she refused at first; she eventually gave in and posed for the bunny mag.

After Sung Hi Lee's Play.boy stint, she worked as a Hawaiian Tropic model. When she went to Montreal to promote the brand, Sung Hi Lee was chosen by a Play.boy executive (who was also a judge) to be one of the 15 Hawaiian Tropic girls for a Hawaiian Tropic special by the magazine.

Still a university student, Sung Hi Lee decided that she wanted to temporarily put off her studies and pursue a full-time acting career in New York City. But most aspiring actresses in the Big Apple are also models, which was a problem for the 5'4" Sung Hi Lee. She therefore headed to L.A. to try her hand at acting and modeling.

While in L.A., she ran into a stylist at an audition, who happened to be the West Coast director for Play.boy. Three's a charm, and Sung Hi Lee posed for the magazine again, forming the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

From 1993 to 1998, Sung Hi appeared in over 12 of Play.boy's Book of Lingerie (she was the first Asian model to appear on the cover solo, in 1996) and in Play.boy Specials such as Sexy Swimsuits, Wet & Wild, Girls of Summer, Cover Girls, Women of Color, and Supermodels. Sung Hi Lee also graced the covers of the bunny mag's German, Taiwan and French editions.

However, some would argue that such focus on her physical appearance has taken away from the essence of her music. Her songs have indeed, evolved, creating a sound independent of other gasoos in the business. Her 5th album, "This Time," is perhaps the epitome of that progression.

The album is somewhat like her previous one, "My Stay in Sendai," as it has an earthy, authentic feel. It is natural music, supplemented by many unique combinations of real instruments, recorded by skilled orchestra and band organizations. The richest tracks contain usage of a full symphonic orchestra, which, along with Lee Soo Young's powerfully emotional vocals, make certain songs juggernauts of strong, human feelings. A good example of this is track 4, "Oo Mi Gongju" (Graceful Princess), the story of a strong woman's grace and heart, even when touched with pain. The full-orchestra version of the same song is even more moving and poignant. "Sunshine's" happy beat and "Bring Me Love's" jazzy R&B flavor are new styles for the often sensitively mellow Lee Soo Young.

She does a good job with these songs but others, such as "Ga Nan Han Gi Do" (Poor Prayer) are poor, recycled versions of her older songs. None of the tracks are really too bad, but none of them, with the exception of the two first instrumentals and "Oo Mi Gong Ju" are astoundingly good. However, Lee Soo Young fans should be delighted with the release of this above-mediocre album as it does provide a wide projection of Lee Soo Young various vocal styles. She doesn't quite succeed in some of the genres, but she gets definite points for making an honest effort.

Gong Li is also known as 巩俐; Traditional Chinese: 鞏俐; pinyin: Gǒng Lì) (born December 31, 1965) is a Chinese film actress. Gong Li first came into international prominence through close collaboration with Chinese director Zhang Yimou.

Born in 1965 in northeastern Shenyang, Gong was the youngest daughter of an economics professor. Gong Li knew from a young age that she wanted to be an actress, and at school Gong Li excelled at singing and dancing almost to the exclusion of other subjects. In spite of failing her college exam twice, she was eventually accepted to the Beijing Central College of Drama in 1985. At that time, Chinese cinema was experiencing a renaissance after the tumult of Mao Zedong's Cultural Revolution. Chen Kaige's Yellow Earth (1984) had just taken the Hong Kong International Film Festival by storm, heralding the rise of the Fifth Generation of filmmakers. One of these young directors was Zhang, the cinematographer for Yellow Earth, who cast Gong in his debut project, Red Sorghum (1987). Immediately a critical and commercial success both abroad and at home, the film garnered the Golden Bear award at the 1987 Berlin Film Festival and thrust both director and star into the international limelight.

One of China's leading young stars of the 1980s and 90s, Gong has appeared in films by other directors ("The Empress Dowager" 1988, directed by Li Hanxiang; "The Terra Cotta Warrior", in which Gong Li acted opposite Zhang) but it is in Zhang's films that Gong Li is best known internationally. Slender and demure-looking but possessing a naturalistic verve and strength onscreen, Gong Li embodies a new generation of Chinese women, brought up amid ancient tradition but reaching toward feminist values. In the title role of "Ju Dou" (1990), Gong Li played a married woman whose torrid affair with her husband's nephew brings about tragic consequences, while in "Raise the Red Lantern" (1991) her character also causes trouble as the newest addition to a man's bevy of wives. Gong Li ventured into comedy with another eponymous heroine in "The Story of Qiu Ju" (1992) as a woman farmer determined to avenge an injustice done to her husband. In 1993, Gong Li starred in a film by another Fifth Generation stalwart, Chen Kaige, "Farewell to My Concubine" which shared the Palme d'Or at Cannes for best picture.

Zhang once again directed Gong Li in the well-received historical epic "To Live" (1994), which followed a married couple over 30 years of modern Chinese history. The pair's next collaboration "Shanghai Triad" (1995) offered Gong Li a tour-de-force role as a nightclub chanteuse and gangster's moll. Gong Li reunited with Chen Kaige for "Temptress Moon" (1996), in which she essays the role of an isolated, spoiled heiress. A year later, Gong made her English-language debut in Wayne Wang's "Chinese Box,” staring opposite Jeremy Irons. Gong Li returned her native land for her next feature, “Piao liang ma ma” (“Breaking the Silence,” 1999), China’s official entry for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2000 about a hard-working single mom who struggles to earn enough money to buy a new hearing aid for her son. Gong Li won Best Actress at the 2000 Montreal World Film Festival for her performance.

Gong Li has since become one of the most successful actresses in Chinese cinema, with fame that has extended abroad to many areas. Her work has been recognized with awards from the Venice International Film Festival and New York Film Critics Circle, and she retains a strong popularity.

Choi Ji woo was born Choi Mi Hyang. The Winter Sonata actress began her exploits into the Korean Showbiz scene in 1994 when she was discovered in an audition organised by MBC. She changed her name to Choi Ji Woo when filming the 1995 Korean Drama Series War and Love

Choi Ji Woo, debuted with the War and Love Series and following the success of that, the following year she began filming with Bae Yong Joon in First Love. Her popularity and fame only began to blossom after she filmed the series Beautiful Days (2001) where she played an orphaned girl suffering from leukaemia where she starred alongside Lee Byung Hun.

In 2002 she then linked up with Bae Yong Joon again to film Winter Sonata which apparently triggered the Hallyu in Japan and led to the success of the series throughout asia. Choi Ji woo gained a large fan base in Japan and her Japanese fans referred to her as Princess Ji Woo.

Choi Ji Woo’s popularity increased further foolowing the filming of her next tv series Stairway to Heaven where she starred alongside Kwon sang Woo in 2003 and aired in MBC Korea.

Although visible now in the public eye, it took chae yeon many years to get to that point. In fact, she had to start out her career in the Japanese music industry first. Chae Yeon biggest single was 둘이서 (Two Of Us), which was the lead single from her second album; this single pushed her to #1 on many music charts.

Chae Yeon first appeared in the entertainment world in Japan under the name of “Jinny” in 2000. Having passed an audition held by an entertainment management company in Japan, Chae Yeon first appeared on a popular show called “Woojjang-Nanjjang’s Woorinari” on Japanese NTV. Chae Yeon appeared on the show for almost 3 years. Along with the television show, Chae Yeon(then Jinny) performed as a singer releasing 3 singles and 1 mini-album in Japan. It was in 2003 that she returned to Korea with her first official album “It’s My Time” under her the name Chae Yeon.
Her debut as a singer in Korea stirred up the entertainment world for the provocative scenes included in the music video of her title song “Dangerous Presentation.” However, approaching the audience with sexy and erotic image and music was successful. Chae Yeon continued to appeal to pop music lovers with her sensual appearance and voice in her second official album released in 2005. Catchy melodies and upbeat rhythms of the song “Just the Two of Us” included in Chae Yeon second album gained raging popularity putting the song on top of local music charts.

Baby V.O.X was my very first korean group ^^ They had set my personal standards for Korean musics. The thing I find a little funny is that Baby V.O.X isn't signed to SMTown or YG Family. I have found that most bands that are popular online are signed with those two lables. None the less, the people who like Baby V.O.X tend not to typical kpop fans. They are usually a breed that covers a large range of people. These are people who truly love Baby V.O.X for their music.

What I like about the group alot is their odd sense of humor. They are very upbeat and sexy. So much so that they give off a new brand of cuteness. Oddly enough the girls show alot of experience from all their years in the music buisness. Their music is great blend of r&b with some nice rapping inbetween, which is hard to find in female groups today.

Baby VOX first appeared in 1997. The group consisited of Jang Shieun, Jang Hyunjun, Yumi, Lee Hee Jin and Kim Eiji. The group was put together to be similar to The Spice Girls, hence five members. Their first single Muhli Hah Neun Hahl (Haircut) was a disapointment. After releasing another single from their first album three of the original members were kicked out, leaving Kim Eiji and Lee Hee Jin. Their 2nd album welcomed Kan Miyoun, Sim Eunjin, and Le Gai. The group struck two hits with Ya Ya Ya and Change, reaching as high a 7th on the charts. But 7th wasn't enough. So in 1999, Lee Gai was asked to leave the group and was replaced with Yoon Eunhye. This, is the final result of Baby V.O.X. The group displayed a new more matured look, which made the group boom with air play. The group shined with songs such as "Get Up", "Killer", and "Missing You". The group followed up with two more sucess full albums- Why, and Boyish Story.

As the group sold thousands of copies of their albums, in May 2002, the group released a 4 disc compilation album called Special Album. The album was the marker for the change of Baby V.O.X. Not soon after, Eunhye and Eunjin went off to model for various companies, while Heejin and Eiji tested out their acting skills. Dispite their time apart, the group performed their first concert in the fall of 2002. Due to the sucess, the group did a world tour in winter 2003, touring Hong Kong, China, Thailand and even the United States. It had been about two years since an album had been released, and times had changed. The girls had to make a drastic change to their music. They took their signature sound, and twisted it to make a new eurobeat sound. This new look and sound was a huge hit in oversea countries. Showing that Baby V.O.X is a group still able to grow.

Seeing the posibilities of their increased popularity, Baby V.O.X set their eyes on a bigger prize- the United States. Before they could go there though, they made another change in their music. They went back to the "street" sound and started to perform modern r&b, replicating the real street sound. They took a more popular style of wearing revealing clothing and ghetto fab clothes. The girls started to make plans for releasing a US album as well. BUT alot of Koreans hated the change and found ways to attack the girls. The most famous fight was with DJ DOC. The girls were accused of breaking copyright laws for using a unreleased rap by Tupac. The DJ trash talked the girls and attacked their new fashion sense by calling them sex gasoos. Hurt, the girls took a break from their new album promotions.

When the girls did start going out for promotionals there was a change. Sim Eunjin wasn't appearing at all publicity dates. Rumors flew that she was quitting the group. Alas, at the end of December, it was announced that Sim Eunjin left the group. She went under pursue of a solo career. She released an album, but hopes to do more acting than singing. Baby V.O.X on the other hand was going to remain as a 4 member group, but plans suddenly changed. Management thought that it would be best that the girls add a new member from China to incread popularity. Currently they are auditioning and picking a new member.
